The history of the Moretti family is interwoven with the history of Erbusco and Franciacorta, to the extent that ancient correspondence attests to their presence in the area as early as 1400. In 1977 Vittorio Moretti decided to devote himself to the world of wine. He set up the company and built a house in which to live in Bellavista. This beautiful place, as the name implies, also proved to be highly suited to viticulture. Only still wines were produced in the first year, a few bottles of Traditional Method (Metodo Classico) sparkling wine the following year to drink with friends, while production can be said to have begun in earnest in the third year. Bellavista began to shine. A personal style and flavour profile  were defined and a winery was built that would shortly thereafter represent a benchmark, becoming one of the most important companies in Italian and international sparkling wine production. Today the Bellavista brand is synonymous with elegance and finesse. Each bottle tells the story of the winery, the terroir it embraces and its characteristic style.

Bellavista is the name of the hill on which the company is situated. From here the view extends as far as the eye can see, to Lake Iseo, the Po Valley and the nearby Alps.

The penultimate glaciation gave rise to the hilly morainic amphitheatre that, from the foothills of the Lombard Prealps, straddles the two shores of the lake, extending to the ridge of Monte Orfano, a bulwark against the fogs of the Po Valley. The combination of light, water and energy has created the conditions for viticulture to express itself here in all its unique potential. The climate is Mediterranean – sub-alpine, mild and breezy.

Bellavista is synonymous with respect for traditions and an eye to the future. Its philosophy is composed of manic precision, simplicity and an obsessive quest for the beautiful and the good. Every detail is carefully attended to and every gesture, even the smallest, is considered decisive.

Nature and man work hand in hand, both in the vineyard and in the winery. The harvest is conducted manually, the use of traditional presses guarantees the delicate pressing of the grapes and the specific separation of the musts. In spring, when the cuvées are created, Bellavista has at its disposal an extraordinary selection of base wines, part of which are fermented in small oak barrels. This is when alchemy is created, the decisive step before the long wait in the bottle, concluded by manual remuage.
